When Greenline Marketing started in 2019, it became apparent that there is a gap in the creative industry that allows professionals to take short-term leave - whether it be for maternity, paternity, military service, or health reasons - and truly step away from work. As Account Managers, Content Creators, Project Coordinators, Marketing Managers, Sales Reps, and more, we’re conditioned to believe that in order to take time off, we need to work ahead or ask our colleagues to shoulder the burden and take on our responsibilities. We have Clients that rely on us, marketing plans that need maintaining, and work that doesn’t allow us to simply press pause.

Greenline Marketing developed a Marketing Leave Coverage plan + process so that whether your family is growing, you’re experiencing a life change, serving our country, or health and personal circumstances necessitate a leave from work, you can confidently take a leave. How does short-term leave coverage work?

First and foremost, we determine what level of coverage is needed, i.e. what are your current responsibilities and what workload will be managed? We’ll start by determining an estimate of hours needed each week and what work we’ll handle for you. After we agree upon the length of coverage needed and the retainer of hours for that period, we’ll map out a communication plan for stepping into our role. We typically ask for 1-2 weeks (though we know babies often have plans of their own) to work alongside you in an onboarding phase before you’re out, and 1-2 weeks to transition things back to you when you return from your leave. From there, we hit the ground running by assuming the position and working as part of your team. If it seems easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy… well, good! It should be.
